The CTVS department at RIMS, Ranchi successfully removed a tumor from the heart of a 13-year-old boy. The boy is a resident of Palam, the tumor was blocking the heart and preventing blood flow to the brain, causing the child to pass out constantly.
The child was rushed to RIMS on Saturday and surgery was performed on Monday due to the severity of the situation. The child is now recovering from surgery and will soon recover and lead a normal life. At the same time, a 15-year-old girl from Koderma, who had a congenital heart defect, was successfully operated on. Considering the age of the child, the heart valve is not replaced, but the valve is repaired. The girl will now be able to lead a normal life.
RIMS cardiology department successfully performed valve repair, valve replacement, heart lump, bypass, congenital heart defect, luteum bicker, lung related lavectomy and complex nerve related disease in January. Over the past year, many complex heart-related surgeries have been performed at RIMS, notably valve repair, valve replacement, aortic dissection, small-incision heart surgery, and bypass surgery. Along with this, complex diseases related to the lungs and nerves are also successfully treated and operated at RIMS.
Dr. Vineet Mahajan, Head of CTVS says, “People of Jharkhand do not have to roam anywhere. State-of-the-art treatment is available free of cost at RIMS Hospital with the help of Ayushman Yojana and Jharkhand Govt. Patients come to RIMS and get proper heart disease counseling.”
